You need a minimum of two employees, one shareholder and one director to start one of these. Well, once you have a couple of business name ideas in mind, you can easily search through the <a href=\"https:\/\/eroc.drc.gov.lk\/home\/search\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Department of the Registrar of Companies\u2019 website<\/a> to check whether your company name has already been taken or not.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the search results don\u2019t show any companies with the same name, you\u2019re all set. In-case there\u2019s already another business with the same name as yours, it&#8217;s always safe to have one or two alternative names on hand. Once you make a business name reservation, it\u2019s valid for three months. The company name reservation will cost you Rs. 2,000 + VAT 8%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"4\">Step 02 &#8211; Submit company registration forms&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>After you\u2019ve gotten approval for your company name, you have to submit a few forms to the DRC (Department of the Registrar of Companies). We\u2019ve gone ahead and attached the forms to make it easier for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"\/srilanka\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/03\/Sri-Lanka-Form-01.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Form 1 <\/a>\u2013 Company Registration (Rs. 5,290 with VAT 15%).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/srilanka\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/03\/Sri-Lanka-Form-18.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Form 18<\/a> \u2013 Consent and Certificate of Director (Rs. 2,645 with VAT 15%).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"\/srilanka\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2024\/03\/Sri-Lanka-Form-19.doc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Form 19<\/a> \u2013 Consent and Certificate of Secretary\/Secretaries (Rs. 2,645 with VAT 15%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that every form must be either printed or typewritten (according to section 475).
